An Ordinance approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers giving temporary construction license to reconstruct the Sampson Road Bridge over Mouse Creek located on Government-owned land (Tract No 357) and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.

Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving a Temporary Construction License (License No. DACW41-3-25-0043) Agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers to enter upon property for the reconstruction of the Sampson Road Bridge over Mouse Creek located on government-owned land, and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Key Issues:
· The City and the United States Army Corps of Engineers desire to enter into a Temporary Construction License agreement to grant temporary easement on Corps property for the construction of the Sampson Road Bridge Project.
· Since this is an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the US Government and the City, the Charter and State Statute require it to be passed as an Ordinance and signed by the Mayor.
Proposed City Council Motion:
I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a Temporary Construction License Agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers to enter upon property for the construction of the Sampson Road Bridge project, and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Background:
The United States Corps of Engineers has submitted to the City a Temporary Construction License Agreement for signature. Since this is an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the US Government and the City, our Charter and State Statute require it to be passed as an Ordinance and signed by the Mayor.
