Issue/Request:
The revisions to the 2018 set of codes adopted by council on January 8, 2019, are being brought before CEDC for amendments. The family of codes previously adopted includes the 2018 version of the International family of codes including the Residential Code, Building Code, Fire Code, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, Fuel-Gas Code, and the 2017 National Electrical Code.
After the previous ordinance was passed, staff began working on implementation for April 1st 2019 effective date. Staff identified minor scrivener’s errors and omissions. The nature of these errors are mislabeled sections and city specific date fields required to localize the code. None of the amendments in this ordinance change the meaning or intent of the code. Rather, this ordinance constitutes corrections.
