Key Issues:
? Pursuant to Ordinance No. 9878, the City and Wiedenmann, Inc., (hereinafter "Contractor") entered into an Agreement for the construction of the Water Main Replacement: FY23 Project, Project No. 721-1, (hereinafter "Base Agreement").
? The water mains serving St. Luke's East have experienced several breaks over the last few years. The lines serving the hospital are considered "critical infrastructure" by the utility and are on our list for immediate replacement.
? The line which has experienced the most breaks was scheduled to be included in the FY23 work but construction by the hospital in the same location cause us to hold our work to avoid construction conflicts.
? Additional breaks occurred this winter on lines adjacent to those we were already planning to replace so the project was expanded.
? The bids for the FY23 project were favorable and there are funds remaining in the Water Main Rehabilitation Program FY23 that can be used to replace all of the lines with recent issues.
