Update to the 2007 Cultural Arts Plan
Proposed City Council Motion:
Move to adopt the 2016 Cultural Arts Plan Update as presented.
Background:
The 2007 Cultural Arts Plan was adopted by the City Council in October 2007. The Lee’s Summit Arts Council has been working to implement that plan since 2007. It was determined in 2015 that the Cultural Arts plan was in need of an update. In November 2015 Webb Management was hired to complete the Cultural Arts Plan update. Webb Management met with key stakeholders from our community in December 2015. From those meetings Webb Management revised the 2007 Cultural Arts Plan and completed the Cultural Arts Plan update. The revised Cultural Arts Plan was shared with the Lee’s Summit Arts Council and Webb Management presented the revised Cultural Arts Plan to the Arts Council on March 21, 2016. Comments from the Arts Council were shared with Webb Management during the presentation. The presentation was also shared with the Lee’s Summit Park Board at their March meeting.
The Lee’s Summit Arts Council and Lee’s Summit Park Board had no additional changes to the recommendations presented by Webb Management.
