Key Issues:
Resolution No. 16-01 was adopted by City Council on January 7, 2016. The intent was to create a group of citizens who would assist the City in sharing public information to our community. Unfortunately, the Mayor did not receive all of the necessary recommendations from the City Council.
Now that the Rock Island Rail Corridor Authority has been formed by Jackson County, we are in a better position to understand the activities relating to this rail corridor. City staff would like direction from the City Council regarding the merits of this committee. We will be seeking your direction as to filling the remaining positions or taking a different approach regarding communication with concerned citizens.
