Ordinance 7934 approving project No. 41132472 FY2017 Crack Seal was approved with an incorrect contract amount. The amount written in the ordinance and approved was $179,510.00. However, the amount of the contract awarded to the successful bidder was $179,955.00, a difference of $455.00.

FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7934 PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT ON THE 11TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2016 TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT AMOUNT FROM $179,510.00 TO $179,955.00.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7934 PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT ON THE 11TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2016 TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT AMOUNT FROM $179,510.00 TO $179,955.00.
Background:
The amount of the contract awarded to the successful bidder was $179,955. The amount written in the ordinance was $179,510, which is $455 less than the contract. The error came about when staff combined the two numbers between the low bidder and next bidder on the bid tab. The actual low bid was $179,955, so the contract amount is correct. The second low bidder was $192,510. Staff had combined the 179 and 510 when reviewing the original packet form.
