Key Issues:
On April 9, 2024 the City Council approved an ordinance establishing a park impact fee to support future park acquisition and park development. Rates for the park impact fee need to be established and included in the schedule of fees. Per ordinance, the park impact fee will be assessed starting July 1, 2025.
The Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Board's rate recommendation for residential development is between $250 - $350 per bedroom with a four bedroom maximum rate per living unit. The recommended rate for non-residential development is $.20 - $.30 per square foot.
