Background:
The Scruggs Road Pump Station and Excess Flow Holding basin has an existing 24” butterfly valve on the gravity interceptor to the pump station wetwell. This valve provides operations staff with flexibility for diverting flows around the pump station in times of emergency or for planned maintenance outages. The butterfly valve is buried in the yard of the pump station and has failed. This project was proposed to replace the existing failed installation with a new 24” plug valve and install a 5’ diameter manhole to help maintain the valve in the future.
