A Resolution to adopt Phase II of the Airport Master Plan Update. (BOAC 4/2/25 and PWC 4/14/25)
Body
Issue/Request:
A Resolution to adopt Phase II of the Airport Master Plan Update.
Key Issues:
• On June 8, 2021, City Council Adopted Phase I of the Airport Master Plan Update.
• Due to the timing of Federal Grants, the Master Plan Update was broken into 2 phases.
• Phase 1 of the Master Plan Update provided the basic planning elements of a Master Plan such as: inventory, forecast, facilities requirements, alternatives and land use compatibility.
• Phase II of the Master Plan Update consists of developing FAA compliant deliverables including the Airport Layout Plan and the Exhibit A Property Inventory Map.
• Phase II of the Master Plan Update has now been completed.
Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council adoption of a Resolution to adopt Phase II of the Airport Master Plan Update.
Background:
Phase II of this Master Plan Update has concentrated on completing FAA-compliant deliverables, such as the Airport Layout Plan (ALP), Exhibit “A” Property Map, and Airport Geographical Information Systems (AGIS) datasets. It also focused on additional planning deliverables to further support and investigate recommendations made in Phase I. These other planning efforts focused on completing a Preliminary Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Siting and BCA Study, studying the merits of a precision approach to Runway 36, completing an Obstacle Action Plan (OAP), and developing a Wildlife Hazard Assessment Plan.
