Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council for approval of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 3 to the contract with MegaKC Corporation for the Jefferson Street Improvements project, an increase of $121,503.68 for a revised contract price of $2,779,713.41.
Background:
Change Order No. 3 will address several quantity adjustments identified during the project closeout process. Additionally, at several locations, roof drains were identified that were not accounted for in the original design. As a result, several minor design changes were required to properly collect and convey this water. Additionally, Change Order #1 added 128 calendar days to the contract, causing the project to winter. As a result, the contractor had additional project costs that could not have been anticipated during the bidding process. These costs have been documented and are being addressed with this Change Order.
