Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving the use of an agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit and Key Equipment & Supply Company and utilizing a Sourcewell Cooperative contract to purchase an Eagle Waterless Street Sweeper, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

Key Issues:

Request the purchase of a Eagle brand Waterless Street Sweeper for the Public Works Operations Department at a price of $415,074.90.  This new unit will replace the current unit and is being funded from the City of Lee's Summit VERP (vehicle and equipment program) fund and approved in the 2023-24 FY Budget.  This purchase will utilize contract number LS #2024-037

Need to replace the current unit due to the end of it's expected life.

Proposed Committee Motion:

I move to recommend to City Council for approval of an Ordinance approving the use of an agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit and Key Equipment & Supply Company and utilizing a Sourcewell Cooperative contract to purchase an Eagle Waterless Street Sweeper, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.

Background:

Scheduled replacement for the current street sweeper now in use and approved through the 2024 FY Budget.  Utilized source-well contract to obtain the best purchase price possible utilizing source-well buying power through nationwide contracts.

Impact/Analysis:

Award of this purchase would allow the purchase of a current model Diesel driven unit and would allow the purchase to be pre 2025 diesel emissions which are costly to implement.
