An Ordinance approving Amendment 1 to Contract SCON-1547 with HDR Engineering, Inc for Final Design of the Jacomo Basin Pump Stations in the amount of $1,389,611, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Key Issues:
Ordinance No 10328 authorized an Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. for preliminary design of two sanitary sewer pump stations to serve portions of the sewershed west of Lake Jacomo in a qualifications based selection (RFQ 2024-064).
HDR has completed the Basis of Design Report and 30% design.
Amendment 1 includes 60%, final design and procurement phase services associated with these two pump stations. The project is proposed to be delivered using a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contracting model.
The contract is included in the FY 2027 CIP as Project P-299 with funding from Sewer Tap.

I move to recommend to City Council approval of an Ordinance approving Amendment 1 to Contract SCON-1547 with HDR Engineering, Inc for Final Design of the Jacomo Basin Pump Stations in the amount of $1,389,611, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.

SECOND MOTION: I move to adoption of an Ordinance approving Amendment 1 to Contract SCON-1547 with HDR Engineering, Inc for Final Design of the Jacomo Basin Pump Stations in the amount of $1,389,611, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Background:
The sewershed west of Lake Jacomo (Jacomo Basin) currently does not have sanitary sewer service. Water Utilities hired HDR to perform a Preliminary Engineering Study (PER) which documented the need for three (3) pump stations to provide sanitary sewer service to this area. Currently two pump stations, Todd George and Strother, are under design. The initial design contract included services through 30% design, which has been completed. This amendment includes services through final design and procurement.
