An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for the construction of Project No. P-154 for the Water Main Replacement FY25 Project to Wiedenmann, Inc., for an increase in the contract price of $983,166.00 for a revised agreement amount of $6,441,862.00 and to increase the project timeline by 180 days and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Key Issues:
• Pursuant to Ordinance No. 10408, the City and Wiedenmann, Inc., (hereinafter "Contractor") entered into an Agreement for the construction of the Water Main Replacement: FY25 Project, Project No. P-154, (hereinafter "Base Agreement").
• A significant water main break occurred along SW Harbor Drive.
• Numerous water main breaks along NE Country Lane occurred recently.
• The City desires to modify the Base Agreement, as amended, to increase the agreement amount and to increase the project timeline to replace additional water mains along SW Harbor Drive, SW Harbor Court, NE Country Lane and NE Country Lane Court ("Change Order No. 1").
Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to the City Council approval of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for the construction of Project No. P-154 for the Water Main Replacement FY25 Project to Wiedenmann, Inc., for an increase in the contract price of $983,116.00 for a revised agreement amount of $6,441,862.00 and to increase the project timeline by 180 days and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.

FIRST MOTION: I move to advance to second reading an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for the construction of Project No. P-154 for the Water Main Replacement FY25 Project to Wiedenmann, Inc., for an increase in the contract price of $983,166.00 for a revised agreement amount of $6,441,862.00 and to increase the project timeline by 180 days and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for the adoption of an Ordinance approving Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement for the construction of Project No. P-154 for the Water Main Replacement FY25 Project to Wiedenmann, Inc., for an increase in the contract price of $983,166.00 for a revised agreement amount of $6,441,862.00 and to increase the project timeline by 180 days and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Background:
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 10408, the City and Wiedenmann, Inc., (hereinafter "Contractor") entered into an Agreement for the construction of the Water Main Replacement: FY25 Project, Project No. P-154, (hereinafter "Base Agreement").
The water main along SW Harbor Drive west of SW Regatta Drive along with water mains along SW Linden LN and SW Linden Court are included in the FY25 Water Main Replacement Project. As plans for the FY25 Water Main Replacement Project were being prepared for bid, additional breaks occurred along SW Harbor Lane east of SW Regatta Drive and SW Harbor Drive.
While the FY25 Water Main Replacement was going through the approval process for award to Wiedenmann Inc., numerous water main breaks occurred along NE Country Lane.
With sufficient funding remaining in the FY25 Water Main Replacement Project budget, the City desires to modify the Base Agreement, as amended, to increase the agreement amount and to increase the project timeline to replace additional water mains along SW Harbor Drive, SW Harbor Court, NE Country Lane and NE Country Lane Court ("Change Order No. 1").
